Our commitment to you.
A. Personal Identifying Information
Personal identifying information is your name, street or e-mail address,
phone number or any other information which, when used by itself or with other
data, might identify you individually. ADS will not collect this information
from you on these sites, unless you give it to us voluntarily.
If you do give personal identifying information to ADS, we will store it
securely and will not allow it to be accessed or used by any person or entity
not affiliated with AmericanDrugSource.com, other than under the conditions
described below. We provide protection against unauthorized disclosure of the
information you share with us. We limit associate access to our customer files
to those with a need to know. We also educate our associates about their
responsibility to protect your privacy, and we give them clear guidelines for
adhering to our policies and standards.
When we receive personal identifying information from you, ADS may use the
information for reasonable business purposes only, just as non-Internet
businesses do. These reasonable business purposes may include: (1) compiling
data and analyses internally to understand and serve our customers better; or
(2) developing programs which may interest you and other customers.
You may remove your personal identifying information from our
AmericanDrugSource.com active database. If you have submitted personal
identifying information to ADS, and you wish to have it removed from our ADS.com
active database, please tell us by sending a message to ADS customer service at webadmin@americandrugsource.com.
You will be removed from our mailing list, and your records stored for archival
purposes only.
Personal identifying information and protected health information submitted
to ADS by its pharmacy customers is considered confidential and is protected by
federal and state privacy laws, including the privacy provisions of the Health
Information Act of Alberta (HIAA). ADS recognizes the sensitivity of personal
information regarding pharmacy services. We appreciate that the Internet can
only succeed as a health care tool if users have confidence that the information
they submit will be treated as carefully as it would if it were presented to a
pharmacist in a neighborhood drug store.
For these reasons, all information that you submit in your use of the ADS
websites to have a prescription filled or refilled or for other
prescription-related transactions will be treated as confidential, just as it
would for prescriptions you fill at our local pharmacies. Confidential pharmacy
information is stored securely. No person or entity outside of ADS and its
agents and affiliates may access the information, absent appropriate authority
or consent. In the rare event of a technical failure at the server, intervention
by technical personnel may be required.
Please note that when you pick up prescription orders at an ADS pharmacy, ADS
may subsequently contact you to provide you with additional information that you
may find relevant to your health care needs. You may opt out of receiving these
communications at the time you pick up a prescription by speaking with a
pharmacy technician, or at any time after that by calling us toll free at 1-866-237-0237. Please also be aware that if you pick up prescriptions from
more than one ADS store, and you don't want to receive these communications, you
must opt out separately at each location. It is only necessary to opt out one
time per store location.
B. Non-Personal Information
In order to provide the best service to our customers, ADS Supply Inc. tries
to keep track of the traffic on our website. Like many other website servers,
our server may automatically collect information from your computer when you
access and use our website. Usually this information is not personal identifying
information, although it may be.
Examples of information collected include the kind of web browser you used,
the domain from which you connected to the Internet, the date and time you
accessed the site, your computer's operating system, and the address of the
website from which you connected to our site. We will use this information only
for purposes of planning and tracking, as well as assessing the technical
function of our site. By understanding how our site is accessed, we can
continually improve it to respond to our customers' interests.
In addition, ADS servers may place so-called "cookies" or other
information files directly onto your hard drive to identify and greet you or for
other purposes. For instance, they may be used to let us know that you are a
prior customer, which can save you time by eliminating the need to enter account
information each time you access the site. ADS will not store personal
identifying information in cookies.
C. Other Websites
We may provide links to other websites where our customers may find useful
information or services. These other sites are not under ADS’s control, and we
make no representation or guarantee regarding the linked sites or their content.
While we provide these links for your convenience, we do not endorse the linked
sites, and cannot be responsible for their privacy policies or security
procedures. You may want to review linked sites’ privacy and security policies
before providing them with any information.
D. Your Role in Safeguarding Your Information
You have a role to play as well in protecting the privacy and security of
your information online. When you register for an account with ADS.com, you
agree to take responsibility for: controlling the access to and use of your
activation codes and passwords; authorizing, monitoring, and controlling access
to and use of your AmericanDrugSource.com account and password; promptly
informing AmericanDrugSource.com when it becomes necessary to deactivate a
password.
In addition, it is your responsibility to notify us of changes or updates to
your e-mail address or other contact information that you have provided to us.
We will use information gathered through our server solely in accordance with
the policies described above. Any changes to the policies will be posted on this
page of the website.
